Which of your company's contributions to the PostgreSQL Project (code/community/conference/sponsorship) are you most proud of?
Proventa is the founder of the PostgreSQL User Group (PUG) Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Our meeting-group serves as a platform to present, learn, and discuss anything about PostgreSQL. We try to mix local and foreign speakers to offer an exciting and diversified field of expertise. When time fits, we aim to inspire computer science students from the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt (h_da) for PostgreSQL and its potential by lecturing as part of the official curriculum.
What is your PostgreSQL centered product?
Proventa provides consulting, integration & support services for PostgreSQL. We implement custom-tailored solutions for our customers' requirements, regardless of whether conceptional, technical, organizational or regulatory. With more than 30 years of experience, we are helping enterprises, SMUs and the public sector and their needs to integrate PostgreSQL to modernize their IT infrastructure and drive innovation.
Which feature is missing in PostgreSQL?
Monitoring and knowing the health status and internals of your database is an integral part of running a database. The implementation of an interface or an endpoint to directly attach monitoring solutions like Prometheus & Grafana is very tempting. Having this feature with default or best practices metrics and a way of adding custom metrics would enhance operations.
